WE ARE MOVED!

Tonight at 10:15pm we moved the last box into the new apt. And made the first pledge to purge ourselves of this extra CRAP we keep moving from place to place. I am thinking of starting "ed's List"

PS. Hayden, I accidently buried the CD, in amongst the stuff but I'll find it by the weekend and send it out.

I have to say this is probably not a real character... But maybe I am wrong here, after all from what little I really know it could be.

But I loved the whole outfit she had on and so I got her to pose with the "dude" mannequin behind her.

She was at ComiCon in San Diego a few years back

So only a few more days till...

So only a few more days till we are supposed to be moved out of the old apt.

And dragging it out like we have done has almost made it more painful. We need to keep going back to the old apt after work to clear our stuff out of it, but when we get home after work the last thing we feel like doing is going to the old apt to clear out our stuff. So instead we make a commitment to do it the next night. And so it has dragged out almost to the end of the month.

So again very little blogging happening... But it should pick up in MARCH! ;)

Apparently this was a superhero at some time. Although I have no idea what her powers were, I would suspect it had something to do with those rockets.

So in we moved. We spent all day friday moving. The movers arrived at 8 am and finally left at 3 pm. The company "A friendly Movers" were great I would use them again.

Actually I should say the movers, Tony, Jason, and Steve were great, I don't really know that much about the company other than they hired these guys who moved us.

So that is also one reason why the blogging is slowing down a bit this month. We've been crazy busy trying to get all the bric - a - CRAP moved fomr the old place to the new place before the end of the month. Wish us luck!

For more photos of the moving click on the flickr link down and to the right.

And can you believe that all the boxes in this picture, well minus a few for the kitchen are boxes of books.

Cause one day when were old and gray we are going to open a used bookstore and coffee shop. And so we have started collecting now so we'll have enough books by the time we are older. ;)

What was up with the tape costume. After that kind of response one has to one up the challenge and having done that offer up a prize.

Well this week I have a similar challenge...

Where does this ladies costume originate from?

The first to answer correctly, get's their choice of the following (slightly listened to) CD's, mailed to them. good luck.

Santana - supernatural

The verve pipe - villians

311 - 311

or

Green Day - Nimrod

Tomorrow we move...

More on all this after the dust settles.

On top of all the other things I am trying to make time for.

This is a photo collage I have been working on, it is just in the beginning stages, but I thought I would share it anyway.

The working title right now is "American Dream" but I don't know if that is going to be the final title or not.

The softest leather sofa ever

Last sunday we were out running errands, (not packing) when we stopped in at a local scratch and dent furniture store, that is only open on the weekends.

Why did we stop there...

Because we don't own a couch, sofa, loveseat or Futon for that matter. We have no piece of furnture that sits in a living room, family room, or game room, that can seat more than one person at a time.

We did once, back when we owned a house. In fact when we owned the house we had both a sofa and a love seat.

Side Note: It has become apparent to me in writing this stuff that there is a point in time that keeps coming up. And that is the point of home ownership that exists up until the home sale and then everything after home ownership. SO that point will now be known as D.uring H.ome O.wnership and the point after will be S.ince H.ome O.wnership

So we now return you to your regularly scheduled blog.

But when we decided to sell the house and move into an apt (in ghent) it became apparent to us that the larger pieces of furniture were just not going to fit into the considerably smaller apt. so we got rid of them.

Well now we are moving into the considerably larger apt. and I want to have people over and these people will have no where to really sit except the dining room table without a sofa of some kind.

And it was this line of thinking that brought us to where we ended up last sunday, sitting on a leather Natuzzi sofa with the softest leather I have ever sat on in a couch. It was like your favorite old bomber jacket that you've had for years and just fits so comfortably around you. It was like butter. And it was $1200, which was more than I thought we had intended on spending for a sofa. Especially when the sofa was really a love seat.

Mr. Poofy Couch

And we didn't know if the Leather love seat was really the deal of the century, the right price for the right piece, or really like we started out thinking more than we have to pay to get a comfortably couch.

We headed out to a store that has Sofa's and other stuff. Where we were greeted by a lovely sales woman that we were great fun to banter with. Which made the shopping a little more interesting, just giving her random bits of phoobabble. Such as we can't buy my grandmothers sofa brand new, that kind of stuff has to be handed down. And we don't want a couch that requires the purchase of wooden ducks.

Well after sitting on everything that looked like it might somehow work in our house we found Mr. Poofy Couch. And in the right color this might be pretty comfortable to sit on and look pretty good to boot. I think the right color was going to be purple, and the price $800.

Now this is closer to what I thought a couch would cost. But we needed to visit some other stores to discover if there was something better out there.

So then we went to another store. One that is having a sale this weekend and this weekend only. And looked around, or rather we were guided around the store by a salesman. Ending up at this lovely piece of sectional furniture that just screams to be in our living room, to the tune of $1900. But hey! this is the bottom basement on sale price, with no payments for FOUR YEARS! You can "buy" furniture today with only 20% down and make no payments until 2010...

Although this looked great, it wasn't as comfortable as the Leather loveseat we saw that started this whole expedition.

$2600

And that is when we decided there are other things in life that we want to spend our money on, especially when we are talking about that much money.

And so we still don't have a sofa, well at least not yet. But we plan on getting one soon. Just maybe not before we move into the apt. after all we still have packing to do.
